Spent part of last weekend in Lake Placid, where fresh mountain air, a cozy chalet, a gondola ride, and dinner overlooking Mirror Lake chased away any traces of the past whirlwind week.

Fall 2008 Runway Trend - Show Those Panties!

Personally, we think Christian Dior nailed it, but the designers featured in this post did an amazing job interpreting peek-a-boo panties in a contemporary way.
However, the idea of this concept working into everyday life is still a long way off.
Fleur T - New Fall Collection

We are so pleased to present the new Fall collection for Fleur T! This consistently fabulous lingerie brand has introduced the 'Je Ne Sais Quoi' group for the new season. Basically, this collection works for everyone - the bras are smooth enough for frequent use, the black/cafe colorway is a best-seller, there are padded & non-padded bras, there's an assortment of panty options, and there are beautiful coordinating loungewear pieces to boot!
We have our eye on that beautiful silk kimono...it will make a great ready-to-wear piece layered with chunky jewelry and skinny jeans!
This collection is now available for purchase...the next Fleur T collection for Fall comes out in November.

Green and sequins with a stunning fringe -- the feeling of Fall is in the air . . .

{wrapped in luxury}
And while we're on the subject of cozy Fall things, Balineum, the British company that makes my favourite ruffled shower curtain, has just come out with a range of ultra-plush towels for those late evening soaks after a long day . . .
{interesting facts:}
> at an incredible 820 grams per square meter {most are 500-600 gsm}, this line is considered to be the most luxurious on sale in Europe
> Sarah Watson, Balineum's founder, is really lovely
> these beautiful shots were taken by James Merrell
{a new take on tradition}
Always exciting to discover new takes on old traditions, and these photographs would make for such wonderfully lovely, fashionable memories, with a mix of fun, laid-back cool, combined with a devastatingly stylish, haute couture air.

Retro Swimwear from Abaete

We've been doing our ordering for Spring 2009, and as far as swimwear is concerned, we are ordering a lot of retro styles! Almost every brand has the cutest high-waisted bikini briefs, or 1940s-inspired 1-pieces. But all of these new items come to our boutique in February...and we need to be hush-hush for now.
In the meantime, we found some retro goodness in these Abaete pieces! These items are available for purchase right now, with some styles on sale (even better!). Also check out the Abaete ready-to-wear collections while you're at it...
