GLAMOUR PHOTOGRAFY

Mila Kunis on the cover of the March 2011 issue of W Magazine is relevant to our blog for two reasons:  A gorgeous Eres bra graces the cover of the issue (yay lingerie!) and her Chanel robe/coat with the feather collar and sleeves is quite reminiscent of the famous ostrich feather burlesque robes sold on our website!   It's one of those photos you can easily recreate with a quick visit to fairefroufrou.com.  Finding lingerie on the cover of a magazine this year is much harder to find than it was one year ago, so we're tickled to see this!

. . . have long admired the work of british photographer craig mcdean, and with september's arrival, have been especially taken with this recent editorial for w magazine, featuring georgia may jagger and a beautiful mix of sequined gowns and leopard print, luxe hair and smokey eyes, opulent ornamentation and an elegantly blasé and decadent moodiness . . .

This photo shoot by Mario Sorrenti is like a top model reunion! Some of our favorite models showcase the lingerie-inspired looks of this season for W Magazine. With a sultry nod to the Thirties and Forties, we see lots of leg and exposed bras. The hosiery is a wonderful component of this shoot, and we love the creative layering we're seeing. Really, what can we say other than sit back and enjoy these beautiful images.
All of these lingerie-inspired editorials are making our job as lingerie bloggers very easy!

Oh how exciting to open the September issue of W Magazine to see so many of our favorite lingerie designers featured! This editorial, shot by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, shows the English countryside filled with a mixure of tweed and intimate apparel.
We spotted a couple of wool lingerie pieces, one from Prada and the other from Miu Miu. We are curious how popular wool lingerie will be this Fall. It probably will not be on the top of everyone's must-have list! As for cashmere intimates...we're all for it!

We are finally getting around to adding the new pieces from The Lake & Stars to our online store and blog! The pictures in this post represent 2 new groups; Truce and Trick Date.
Basically the Truce pieces are those with the mesh & net strips across the front of the tops. The Trick Date pieces are those with the contrast ribbon trim on the tops (pink with orange ribbon, navy blue with green ribbon). Both groups are just lovely and true to The Lake & Stars style, which is an assortment of modern, feminine and fashion-forward designs.
We actually have the entire collection in stock, but haven't quite gotten everything online as of this moment (should be soon!)...let us know if there's something you're wanting.
You should know that Nikki & Maayan from TLS were featured in the July issue of W Magazine as one of "this year's breakout young designers". Both designers are shown below, along with a model wearing one of their pieces (6th, 7th & 8th from left). Congratulations ladies!!!

We discovered (and fell in love with) Strumpet & Pink 5-years ago when we were first researching brands that would be stocked at Faire Frou Frou. We have loved this brand for a long time, and we are incredibly excited to share the news that a new Strumpet & Pink collection is on its way to our store (and our online store too!).
If you are not familiar with this line, Strumpet & Pink is a whimsical British label created by Lisa Morgan and Melanie Probert. They specialize in hand-made knickers that are decadent, ornate and certainly created for a special occasion. Their creations are so high-fashion and gorgeous, you almost want to own them purely as a display item!
Each panty has a unique name and design, and included are a few images of our favorite pieces! We gave the designers free reign to create special items for Faire Frou Frou, so we will keep you posted when the new collection arrives in a few weeks!
In the meantime, if you see any pieces that you wish to special order, we can certainly facilitate that for you. You can pretty much do any style in any color, just ask!
