This weekend is satin dresses and sunsets, dinner reservations and late, late nights . . .
Have a beautiful, beautiful weekend, everyone!

{happy weekend!}
Happy Friday!
We found these adorable pictures of Cyd Charisse and they seemed absolutely fitting for a post! The first image of the swimwear probably indicates what most of you will be doing this weekend, and the second image of the large powder puff is so undoubtedly frou-frou and cute we had to share (we want a powder puff just like that).
We are off to NYC for a few days for a lingerie tradeshow, but we will be checking in every now and then on the blog. We have some great plans ahead, and just hope the humidity/heat won't be too miserable while we're there.
P.S. - This is very likely where you know Cyd Charisse from...Singin' in the Rain!
Also, don't forget to shop our SUMMER SALE at Faire Frou Frou!
{two lovely things: gold + geometric}
Always drawn to gold in interiors, especially in geometric patterns such as this beautiful wood and metal shelf {above} and hand-forged gueridon table with gold gilding {below}, perfectly matched with a swing-arm sconce and brass shade . . .

Faire Frou Frou in TV Commercial
The attached video is a TV ad for KGB (542542) which is a text answer service that provides quick, accurate responses to the questions you text to them (per their website). You can learn more about them here.
The ad is pretty cute, and kind of a reality here in the store. But more importantly, we love that the Myla 'Annabelle' Peek-a-Boo bra gets such great exposure on our mannequin!
We wonder if we text the question 'who is the best luxury lingerie boutique?' to them if their response would be Faire Frou Frou? It better be!
{inspiration: embellishments}
Things to look forward to: layers, ruffles, cuffs and pearls, and for summer's end -- tweeds and cardigans and pretty, pretty embellishments . . .
{p.s.} really beautiful ankle boots here

This post is more about 'boudoir inspiration' than a 'how-to', since there are so many decorator blogs that explain that much better. When looking for inspiration for our boudoir makeover, we looked at a number of sites, particularly The Paris Apartment and Paris Hotel Boutique. We also discovered a few other lovely shops and blogs that will certainly help you create the boudoir look such as French Blue, Chinoiserie Chic, The French Bedroom Company and Paris Atelier.
It seems like the basis for creating the glamorous boudoir look is including some (if not all) of these elements: silk upholstered furniture, silk tufted headboard, mirror dresser or vanity, lucite details, crystal accents, antique perfume bottles, a satin upholstered chaise lounge, and those white fluffy sheepskin rugs (or even a flokati rug perhaps). For a more professional take on the look, visit the sites we listed above.
As for what you wear in your boudoir, everything you need can be found here.

{inspiration: a stunning gold desk}
. . . and while we're on the topic of inspiring work spaces, Aerin Lauder's 30's French steel and mirror desk at work {previous post} is rivaled only by the glamorous gold vintage Gabriella Crespi desk in her home office:
{the desk is Italian, circa 1970 and constructed of brass over wood}

{brian atwood + bally}
. . . fallen for the new bally suede and leather ankle boots -- with intricately beautiful lacy brass heels, they are pure works of art . . .
