When you look at these designs by Skin, you get the idea that lounging in cotton can be just as elegant as lounging in silk. Each piece is beautifully constructed with clean lines, soft pima cotton and essentially no fuss.

Designer Susan Beischel is true to the philosophy that everyday garments can be luxurious, and that glamour can be found in simplicity. Most styles are made from combinations of organic pima cotton and/or superfine jersey and crossover from loungewear to ready-to-wear when you layer just right.

We have a few new arrivals from Skin on our website, and will be getting more beautiful pieces over the next few weeks! We can't wait!

Skin Lingerie on the Martha Stewart Show!

We were beyond excited when we heard from our friend Susan Beischel of Skin Lingerie that she would be featured on the Martha Stewart Show! How absolutely perfect that this organic cotton brand be featured on Martha's show, especially given its practical, eco-friendly foundation.
We have carried Skin Lingerie at Faire Frou Frou for as long as we have been in business, and it's well-known by our customers as an essential loungewear line. Martha Stewart refers to it as "comfy cotton couture"...we agree!
Most of Skin's pieces are made from pima cotton in varying weights (from terry cloth to featherweight) and even some Fall/Winter specialty pieces in cashmere. A selection of items are made in organic cotton and dyed using vegetable dye. Any 'fur' you may see is alpaca hair, which Susan makes certain is obtained cruelty-free.

Skin Lingerie; Eco-Friendly

In celebration of Earth Day (or Earth Week as they are promoting on NBC), we wanted to post a story on one of our eco-friendly designers Skin Lingerie. Skin is a luxury loungewear line which offers pieces made from 100% organic pima cotton, organic terry cloth and uses 100% organic vegetable dyes for coloring some of its pieces.
We know that 'organic' is a popular buzz word these days, but a lot of people aren't exactly sure what this entails when they purchase a clothing labeled organic. Basically, organic agriculture is a cleaner approach to farming in which farmers use biologically-based rather than chemically-dependent growing systems to raise crops. An interesting fact to note is that each T-shirt made from one hundred percent organic cotton saves one-third of a pound of synthetic fertilizers and farm chemicals!
