Jan Zwart was born and raised in the center of Amsterdam, Netherlands. He attended a technical school and specialized in ship’s carpentry. He lived on the Canary Islands, Spain, the U.S. and in the south of France and worked as a fisherman, banana farmer, service station attendant and fois gras producer.
