The internet is abuzz with excitement over the June 2011 issue of Vogue Italia, and luckily we get to share it with you thanks to the bits and pieces of lingerie we spy! With a little help from Agent Provocateur, Dolce & Gabbana and Alberta Ferretti, three curvy models get the covergirl treatment in a luscious, sensual spread shot by Steven Meisel. This is all part of Vogue Italia's efforts to promote body diversity, and hopefully part of an on-going goal to show that beauty is not just limited to the small worldwide population of lanky supermodels. To us, beauty is really about attitude, no matter what your size...proof of that is in these photos!

{have a magical halloween weekend}
. . . if there were talk previously, about time having flown, there is no comparison for the month of october, which nearly already seems as a distant dream . . . and for now, there is the thought of pumpkin pie and flickering candlelight, old friends to be reacquainted with and new memories to make, long walks and clasped hands amidst the last of the fallen leaves . . . and whether gilded pumpkins or mysterious & enchanted masquerades, wishing you the most magical weekend . . .
see you again next week & hope it's beautiful where you are,
~ roséline xo

Lingerie or Ready-to-Wear?
photo by Steven Meisel Models: Jessica Stam, Heather Marks, Lisa Cant, Carol Trentiniimage via here
This reminds us of so many of our customers who shop at Faire Frou Frou and mention that some of our lingerie looks like ready-to-wear...and it is! With a bit of creativity and stylish flair, you can make almost any look work to your desired effect. That's the beauty of fashion these days. We make our own lingerie work as ready-to-wear as often as possible, and why not, it's too pretty to cover up!

{valentino + a little side project}
Have been amassing quite the collection of inspirational photos -- my favourite fashion editorials, labels, images, trends and styles -- so much so, that they have spilled over to a place of their own, {a glamorous little side project} . . .

Lingerie Inspiration

We came across a beautiful image of Natalia Vodianova on This is Glamorous, and decided to share it with you (along with a couple others). Each photo hints at luxury lingerie, whether through those cute stockings (love that photo) or the silk & lace dresses reminiscent of a chemise.
These images were shot for Vogue Italia for the "Dinner at Eight" editorial. Photos shot by the talented Steven Meisel.
{colour inspiration: purple reign}
Whether it’s shades of lilac, lavender, plum, puce, thistle, orchid, aubergine, wine, magenta, violet, mauve, indigo or amethyst, purple is everywhere, from shimmery blouses, to loveseats, be-ribboned sandals, and accent walls. It is associated with royalty, regality, and nobility, believed to be Cleopatra’s favourite colour and is included in The Washington Post’s Fall Forecast.
While the luxurious and royally vibrant shades may hang in my closet, have only ever been adventurous enough to consider the soft, romantic, and delicate hues of lilac and lavender for décor . . .

{the last of the summer whites}
As balmy breezes turn crisp and longer days fall silently into dusk earlier each night, am longingly aware that soon the pretty summer dresses and opened-toed sandals will be set aside for long scarves and soft cardigans . . . {and here: the last of the summer whites}
