. . . first came across this stunning cama portuguesa / portuguese bed three years ago while flipping through an issue of living etc -- how perfectly wonderful to see it again -- different tassels, and a different chandelier, but still the same, hand-carved and beautifully ornate place where there could only be sweet dreams . . .

{two lovely things:} . . . few things bring back floods of summer more than wicker and saltwater-laden memories of the sea, and while there are still many golden days to dream away, always lovely to have exquisite remembrances of these, the gauzy and ethereal days of summer . . .

Clearly am not the only one who has fallen for such a lovely whisper of colour, as pinkish tones are everywhere lately. . . and if it were not for living with a charming Brit who prefers more neutral tones and perhaps grays, would happily surround myself in this calming and beautiful hue . . .

As balmy breezes turn crisp and longer days fall silently into dusk earlier each night, am longingly aware that soon the pretty summer dresses and opened-toed sandals will be set aside for long scarves and soft cardigans . . . {and here: the last of the summer whites}

A new week, a new month, and a perfect time to start anew, fresh and with blank a canvas, finish last month's projects, and plan for the adventures ahead . . .

Have posted about all white interiors and bright bursts of colour, but what if you prefer neither and wanted the calm, moody tones of gray? Sophisticated and sexy when infused with hints of brown, gray can be cold and stark if they are too blue. This Paris apartment is just perfect and reminds me of Joachim Bandeau's watercolours {below}, which are varying shades of graphite to black, and look simultaneously soft and bold.
