. . . lately have been thinking about the things we always come back to—the crashing waves of the ocean, a favourite fragrance or countryside road, a novel or restaurant; for some, there are the same colours, designers, or interiors . . .
. . . and for me, it is this manhattan apartment, belonging to fashion designer betsey johnson—a maximalist heaven of overflowing bouquets of roses and utterly breathtaking pink walls, beautiful chandeliers and yards upon yards of antique lace . . .

{decor inspiration | spring things : light & lucite}
. . . and it is quite amazing the difference a few extra minutes of daylight makes -- lately, have been compelled to throw open the curtains a little earlier each morning, stay outdoors a little longer each evening, and at home, thoughts of painting all the walls spring white and scattering mirrors and lucite about every room, to hold on to the early march sunlight for as long as possible . . .

{décor inspiration : relaxed & refined in normandy}
. . . first came across this centuries-old home in normandy last november, and immediately fell head over heels, and so, was utterly thrilled to happen across it again, in the current issue of veranda; and while one is impossibly drawn to the allure of the leopard silk velvet canapé, there are still a myriad of beautiful things to captivate -- the floors, [always, the floors], the gilded picture frames and cashmere throws, the antique bergères in stroheim suede, the grand chandeliers and palest shades of gray, and most of all, that perfect mix of relaxed & refined . . .

{have a beautiful weekend & a few lovely links}
. . . the place is in a state of disarray, for, instead of spring cleaning, it's winter cleaning, for, as you know, currently in the midst of some very exciting things that involve a bit of upheaval, and so, this weekend is red wine in cut crystal glasses, films and flower shops and photographs, a romantic dusting of snow on these [cosy] chilly nights, and love, love, love . . .
hope you're having an astonishingly wonderful weekend, and that it's beautiful where you are, roséline xo

above, boxes, books and art from china and paris flea markets
. . . must confess, has been far too long since have stopped to pick up a magazine, but after happening upon this dramatic and stunning home featured in house beautiful on anna's blog last week, had immediately made a note to purchase the digital version for the ipad, but after stopping by the bookstore on the way home one night, and gazing upon this west hollywood home again, completely fell in love with the glossy pages and this breezy take on traditional . . .

{take me away № 05 | the travel file}
Perhaps the single most important of details before you depart for your trip, [besides your packing list!, of course], is taking care of the things you treasure most of all: your home and the loved ones in it, and the details of your life.
Many travel for business and/or vacation without giving much thought to possibility that something might happen to them while away, and though it is never favorable to think upon, it is important to take extra measures to ensure everything is in order, and so, today’s {take me away} column discusses some of the important details one must take care of beforehand, as well as a few other important things to take along on the voyage . . .
T H E · T R A V E L · I N F O R M A T I O N · L I S T
Each destination [as there could be multiple destinations planned for one trip] would have its own set of details [repeated for each destination] that should include the following information:
destination: be specific, i.e. London, UK
method of travel: car rental company & contact information, train or flight details, airline and contact information, etc.
destination accommodations: where you are staying, be it as a guest with family or friends, hotel, rental home, etc. along with name and address, website and/or telephone number
departure date: when you expect to arrive at the given destination
date of return: day, month, year
method of travel: which flight, with details; or car, train, etc. with details, if different from above
expected arrival time: by estimation [vital to include]
It is important to leave your emergency contact information with whomever is staying at your home while you are away -- be it a neighbor, family member, or a trusted friend. Feel free to use this list as a starting point for your own. You may wish to customize some of the notations, especially if you have numerous pets, children at home, and/or additional people living within your home.

"It was one of those perfect English autumnal days which occur more frequently in memory than in life."
. . . this morning, the sun shone brightly, an utterly perfect start to the weekend, and a perfect way to end the month and we're ready for whatever november brings, so long as there are cosy heather grey sweaters and burnt crimson, logs by the fire and gilded frames, a sprinkle of chocolate on our morning coffee -- and so -- from this moment on, let the leaves fall where they may . . .

{two lovely things: golden shades of autumn}
. . . nearly november, and there has been overcast skies, blustery, leaf-strewn winds, and bouts of rain, and so, to brighten these last october days, golden artwork and gilded accents, warm white cable knits and sun-soaked high-waisted trousers, and it's off to the flower markets for as many bouquets as one can possibly carry . . .

{hope you're having a beautiful autumn weekend}
. . . a late brunch on a sunny sunday afternoon, and can hardly believe that already one week ago, was boarding a flight home from paris, and everything seems to have flown since -- the ten days away, the seven days home, the entire month of october, even . . . and so, from the rest of this enchanted sunday on, shall revel breathlessly in every last moment, even as the days fall soundlessly into night and the slanted pools of light become paler with each autumn morning . . . for today, there are places to visit and old friends to write, overflowing closets to organise, and glittery shoes with which to dance the night away . . .
hope you're having a stunningly lovely weekend, and that it's beautiful where you are, roséline xo

. . . as you know, a few weeks ago in the early morning light of late summer, stopped in for coffee & mimosas at the opening of tory burch's new flagship boutique on 797 madison avenue in new york, for a glimpse of the beautiful interiors spanning across five floors of a 19th century townhouse . . .
. . . and while browsing the new collection and in between a glass of champagne for me, and a freshly brewed coffee from a gilded service for laily, had the chance to catch up with tory and ask her a few questions . . .

{décor inspiration: leopard print & winter white}
. . . and while on the topic of leopard print & bright winter whites, positively enchanted with the romantic and dusky light flooding through this home in buenos aires, and, of course, the leopard print against white walls and floor-grazing draperies, intoxicatingly intermingled with warm wood, velvet and florals . . .
