. . . and it has been a scandalously long time since the last in my closet feature, [too little time & too many projects], but lately, a few fun additions to the closet, especially spring things, and this silk clutch being one; and while have been known to dash about during the workday with much larger handbags -- shoulder, totes and carryalls, paired with a classic trench and pearl-trimmed gloves, it has been perfect for late lunches that drift into stops by gallery openings and after work cocktails, and even, dinner reservations . . .
. . . with the exception of a pretty feather one for evening dates, this one has been a current favourite [although also crazy about the art deco, in gold], and a first introduction jill milan, who make everything in florence, using only italian faux leathers, linens, and cottons that are environmentally friendly and pvc-free; the hardware was handmade by an artisan who worked for one of italy's premier jewelers, adding such elegance and romance . . .

{monday, monday & a bright new week}
. . . hello! lovely to see you again, and how was your weekend? ours was filled with a [quite insane] busy-ness, much different from the recent luxuriously low-key weekends of late, late mornings and sunday brunches; this one was filled with unfinished projects, paint and brushes and drywall dust thrown into the mix for most of the time, with a few moments, happily, on sunday evening, for the oscars [didn't gwyneth look amazing?]; and now, extravagantly happy for a new week, just to have things back to a regular pace again, although there is now a mountain of things left to catch up on, and so, very late weekend links to follow, but for now, a flurry of tangerine tango & a quick hello . . .
happy monday! hope your week is off to a perfect start, —roséline xo
{p.s.} have fallen quite behind on emails and responses may take a little longer than usual x

{runway inspiration : rochas pre-fall 2012}
. . . lavish fabrics from france's bucol studio, dark, inky prints as beautiful as watercolours, and gold-foil brocade cloque, in a-line skirts and swing jackets, pleats and pretty collars -- the rochas pre-fall collection was pure perfection . . .

{new year's style inspiration: gold confetti}
. . . often prefer less structured handbags and clutches, as they are a little easier to fit more things into, but have very much fallen for these acrylic clutches, and especially for the ones made of gold & silver confetti and white pearlescent geo -- wouldn't they be the perfect finish to a new year's outfit?

{holiday gift guide : lovely little luxuries}
. . . and the realization that it was already [and impossibly] mid-december set in this morning, even before the first cup of coffee, and there are still so many plans to make, and things to do, and if you're running a little behind on the holiday shopping, as is the case here, a few perfectly pretty things, for best friends [or yourself], in shades of blush and bits of gold . . .
happy monday! hope your week is off to a perfect start,
roséline xo

{monday, monday & autumn whites}
. . . and the summery things were not packed away, as planned, this past weekend, afternoons spent, rather, in the november sun, and evenings on dinner dates at old favourite places . . . but happily, there is still time, for whites, crisp & warm, have been drifting past summertime to autumn [here & here], and straight into winter . . .
{p.s.} at home, pair with warm tones & leopard print

* new this week, a few picks on elle decor's design insiders' weekly finds for a second time -- the first being, coincidentally, also following a trip to paris . . .

. . . and while we're on the topic of easing into the colder months, should like, very much, to wear white a little longer, at least until the leaves have fallen, and especially if it would mean arriving at the office in a stunning and rather elegant pantsuit, and spending the evening out in a ruffle-sleeved and billowy gown flecked in gold . . .

{lookbook: frida gustavsson for h&m winter 2011}
. . . while at the shops last week, must confess, was a little distressed to already find fall shades of olive and rust, and so, was delighted to happen upon h&m's winter lookbook, filled with deliriously lovely autumn brights in beautiful hues of flax and cerise, white and dusky violet, deep turquoise and gold . . .

{bright mornings & busy days . . .}
. . . the day began as a whirlwind and happily slowed down {just a little} with an early morning stop at the farmers' market for apples, honey comb, pecan butter tarts & two of the most enormous, and romantically fragrant bouquets of pink peonies {if you're on twitter, you may have already heard} and somehow we have arrived at wednesday already and there is still much to catch up on, and so many wonderful things to do . . . and of course, a little behind on a million blog posts, and hopefully can complete a few today, including this week's favourite five, and there are so many other beautiful things to tell you . . .

{style inspiration: bright whites & bits of colour}
. . . while in theory, may love the thought of stepping out in vibrant spring hues, in actuality, much more likely to dash out the door in pale & pretty neutrals . . . and so, was delighted to happen upon a perfect compromise: a crisply tailored white coat accented with an elegantly thin fuchsia belt and pale yellow clutch, or long layers of lace and cool colour-block sandals, or perhaps, floor-length in warm whites, cinched with a perfectly preppy band of kelly green . . .

{style inspiration: plexiglas clutch}
. . . if you have been reading for a while, you will know about a certain fondness for lucite, whether in heels {here & here}, chairs, or anything else, and so, it is no surprise that have fallen head over heels for charlotte olympia's pandora plexiglas clutch with its beautiful gold flower clasp. . .
. . . and imagine it at the office, for pretty correspondence cards or vintage fountain & gold engraved pens; in the powder room, to hold lipstick, glosses and shimmery blushes; and of course, as an impossibly chic and ultra-modern clutch, perfect for afternoons at le musée d'orsay, and evenings in heels and tulle . . .

{style inspiration: beautiful details}
. . . can never get enough of detail shots {an all-time favourite being this one}, and whether soft leather gloves and geometric bangles, french structured handbags and gold vintage watches, there is something about the intermingling of these beautiful little details that seems to say so much . . .
{p.s.} & while we're on the topic of clutches, day & night

{style inspiration: portfolio clutch}
. . . often prefer totes and structured handbags with shoulder straps to keep hands free for checking emails and picking up bright spring bouquets, but now that it is officially spring, can not help but be drawn to this undeniably elegant and impossibly chic leather portfolio clutch, with lovely details like an envelope flap and gold clasp, and especially in this stunning shade of orange . . .
{p.s.} also comes in black
