. . . and it has been a scandalously long time since the last in my closet feature, [too little time & too many projects], but lately, a few fun additions to the closet, especially spring things, and this silk clutch being one; and while have been known to dash about during the workday with much larger handbags -- shoulder, totes and carryalls, paired with a classic trench and pearl-trimmed gloves, it has been perfect for late lunches that drift into stops by gallery openings and after work cocktails, and even, dinner reservations . . .
. . . with the exception of a pretty feather one for evening dates, this one has been a current favourite [although also crazy about the art deco, in gold], and a first introduction jill milan, who make everything in florence, using only italian faux leathers, linens, and cottons that are environmentally friendly and pvc-free; the hardware was handmade by an artisan who worked for one of italy's premier jewelers, adding such elegance and romance . . .

{spring things : shoes, shoes, shoes}
. . . perhaps one of the most exciting things about the arrival of spring, besides all the beautiful & wildly intoxicating sunlight, is the chance for bare toes once again, and pretty platform sandals with sky-high heels and in gold and glitter and perfect pastels . . .

{give-away | spring things & the winner is . . .}
. . . as you know, recently, there was a spectacularly lovely give-away here at {this is glamorous}, for a gold amphora necklace [above]—white gold or yellow gold, scalloped or heart-shape . . . and there were heartrending tales of love and loss, of those fondly remembered, and never to be forgotten, and there were notes from all over the world, as far away as australia and singapore . . .
. . . and so, today, so very excited to announce that a winner has been selected . . .

{give-away | always glamorous gold : the amphora necklace by emily c}
. . . there has been a diamond ring, a louis ghost armchair, and even an herman miller eames chair, but since — in over a year — there has not been another glamorous give-away in all this time . . .
. . . and there has been, perhaps, a wait and a search, of sorts, for something extraordinary to come along, something truly spectacular . . .
. . . and happily, it has . . .

{at the shops : sarah brown jewellery | jewellery inspired by scotland}
. . . with thoughts still lingering on the sandy shores of bora bora, it is no surprise that, on this late-winter day, drawn to the sea-inspired creations of jeweller, sarah brown, whose irregular and beautiful compositions, woven together of island legends and tales of creatures beneath the sea, come together in collections of enchanting, evocative pieces drenched in a sense of curiosity and the unknown . . .

{new year's style inspiration: gold confetti}
. . . often prefer less structured handbags and clutches, as they are a little easier to fit more things into, but have very much fallen for these acrylic clutches, and especially for the ones made of gold & silver confetti and white pearlescent geo -- wouldn't they be the perfect finish to a new year's outfit?

{holiday style inspiration : donna karan autumn/winter 2011-12}
. . . and while on the topic of old-world glamour and romance, of holiday chignons and opera gloves, an utterly stunning collection that encompasses all these, and in luxuriously lovely shades of petal pink and dusky lilac, moonstone, silver shadow, pearl . . .

{holiday style inspiration: bejewelled cuffs & opera gloves}

{at the office : perfectly tailored}
. . . despite all the holiday daydreaming, making it sometimes a little difficult to get things done, and between the festive plans and mid-week brunch dates, there are still a million and one things do, and so, a glittery manicure and a bite of a cupcake wrapped in gold, and it's out the door, perfectly tailored in elegant cashmere and leather accents, and of course, an always chic, yet practical doctor's bag in one hand, and a coffee in the other . . .

{shoes, shoes, shoes : satin & crystal}
. . . always fun to see collaborations, whether or chloë sevigny x opening ceremony or lanvin x h&m, and one that is especially fun is the recent six london & farfetch collaboration with six design bloggers, one of whom was alix from the cherry blossom girl, whose midnight blue satin sky-high mary janes, complete with dainty straps and crystal clasps, perfectly wrapped in elegant bows were a definite favourite . . .

{at the shops: kora | nairobi, kenya}
. . . fair-trade, eco-chic and utterly gorgeous, the kora jewelry range was created by amy walker & maxandra short three years ago, after working for a non-profit group in rwanda; made of recycled materials such as discarded cow bones and horns, brass and aluminum from old pots and automobiles, the range is made by local artisans from nairobi, kenya -- there are necklaces and charm bracelets as well, but have quite fallen for the cuffs and bangles . . .

{favourite five: fashion designer tory burch}
above: tory burch's manhattan home, designed by architect & interior designer daniel romualdez, who also decorated the new flagship store
e d i t o r ' s n o t e : h e l l o f r o m r o s é l i n e
. . . as you know, a few weeks ago in the early morning light of late summer, stopped in for coffee & mimosas at the opening of tory burch's new flagship boutique on 797 madison avenue in new york, for a glimpse of the beautiful interiors spanning across five floors of a 19th century townhouse . . .
. . . and while browsing the new collection and in between a glass of champagne for me, and a freshly brewed coffee from a gilded service for laily, had the chance to catch up with tory and ask her a few questions . . .
from the fall 2011 collection
. . . and so, without further ado, this week's favourite five . . .
à bientôt & hope you're having a wonderful week so far, roséline xo

{style inspiration: soft leather totes}
. . . the summer linen totes and wicker carrying cases have been all but stowed away for the season, and in their place, rich textures and soft leather -- like this wonderfully warm leather tote, perfect for bouquets from the flower markets, a half dozen custard tarts, a pair of glittery shoes, or anything else that the heart desires . . .
