. . . hello! hope you're having an impossibly wonderful week so far -- here, things have been running a little behind all week, and after traipsing around & about for meetings & appointments all afternoon long, a quick moment to say hello and to tell you, {if you haven't already had a chance to read}, about this beautiful write-up featuring my ten style essentials . . .

. . . at this moment, writing to you from a beautiful hotel room in a beautiful city, moments before breakfast is set to arrive, unlike these unbearably chic hand-stitched luggage tags, which would have been perfect, but would not have arrived in time for wednesday morning's early flight; perhaps for the next, but for the moment, breakfast, and so, à bientôt . . .

. . . intermingled with the more casual pieces of chambray and cotton, there were black sequins and whispery floral dresses, pretty bow blouses and deep coral pantsuits, fitted jackets, sheer skirts, impossibly elegant capelets, and all with that ever-present, always perfect sophisticated seventies air . . .

. . . perfectly pretty in lace for day, and dramatically strapless and floor-length for night, still quite smitten with deep coral for the shops and flower markets in the afternoon, and the ballet in the evening . . .

. . . the way the early morning light glimmers off the faceted crystals of a chandelier, the warm slant of sunlight on a perfect reading corner and a bouquet of coral-coloured roses, fresh baguettes for brunch and an early evening glass of rosé -- the days are much longer now and the bright mornings are filled with the music of a million birds -- it's summertime, summertime, and every moment feels like a luxury . . .

. . . a softer, subtler, more romantic version of the classic combination of red and turquoise -- golden coral and morning sky -- and whether a bouquet of peonies at an afternoon dinner party or a delicate silk blouse against luxurious bed linens -- the intermingling of the two feels like a rush of spring air, billowing past curtains and fluttery skirts and bright petals in carved vases, ushering in long-awaited days of summer . . .

. . . falling, falling headfirst into holiday inspiration, but first, could not resist a tiny glimpse at the wonderful things to come after the last of the gifts has been unwrapped, and could not help but be inspired by the ultra-chic asymmetrical topknots and stunningly beautiful and enchantingly vibrant shades of nutmeg, dusky coral and cerise for holiday soirées . . .

{two lovely things:} . . . few things bring back floods of summer more than wicker and saltwater-laden memories of the sea, and while there are still many golden days to dream away, always lovely to have exquisite remembrances of these, the gauzy and ethereal days of summer . . .
