. . . still more to come today, but laily has just sent along this glimpse of tory burch's weekend home in southhampton -- a collaboration with architect & designer daniel romualdez, [whose work you may remember here] and decorator eve hood, there is something so warm and bright, and a little romantic about it all, especially in the living room, [top], at one end of the home's former ballroom, with its coral-coloured curtains and chintz-covered sofa . . .

{at home with : tory burch, southampton}
{hope you're having a beautiful weekend + links}
. . . this weekend has been soft lights and afternoon tea, golden and crimson leaves fluttering softly, softly; and warm autumn winds and dusky shadows; perfect light and plenty of time to dream . . .
hope you're having an impossibly lovely weekend, and that it's beautiful where you are, roséline xo

{hello + a few updates . . .}
. . . as the week's posts have been sporadic at best, thought it might be a little easier, [especially if you are just arriving], to include the events of the [much too short] stay in nyc below . . .
m o n d a y
mimosas with tory burch on madison ave // ladurée // an early lunch & lattes with laily
t u e s d a y
the tory burch runway presentation at the lincoln center // the chadwick bell show at the standard // lunch with laily at pastis // kelly wearstler & bergdorf goodman soirée [fun photos to follow] // architectural digest & tiffany & co. soirée
w e d n e s d a y

. . . and then, before we knew it, it was on the way out of the city to the utterly charming lakeview lodge in the mountains for the rest of the week . . .

{at the office: a beautiful mess}
. . . and it feels as if we have been sorting and organising for days, and yet, there are still so many things about, that out-of-town guests may just arrive to something resembling {although somewhat less tumultuous} sofia coppola's beautiful mess . . .
{sofia coppola's home office originally published in vogue, via a lovely being}
{hello & thoughts on a busy tuesday}
. . . at this time of year, it feels as if every day should be spent lounging about in pools of sunlight, flipping through old novels with all the time in the world, and yet, in actuality, have been trying to find even a few moments here and there to finish reading the same two books for what could possibly be months now, and yet, with all the amazing things to come of all this, would not want it any other way . . .

{style inspiration: perfect platforms}
. . . a new pair of white strappy summer wedges earlier last week, for traipsing about town and blossom-laden walks with the dog, the third pair of wedges already this spring, and summer has yet to begin, and yet, after happening across these utterly charming prada platforms {above}, perfectly paired with pressed trousers turned in an ultra-chic french cuff in the most enchanting shade of august sunrise, am becoming quite smitten with platforms and their teetering heights and already imagine them with romantically flirty & lacy summer dresses for quiet lunch dates on cobbled terraces surrounded by spring flower boxes of pussy willows and daffodils . . .
1. chloë sevigny for opening ceremony platform mary janes | 2. lanvin patent wedge| 3. prada t-strap cork platform sandals | 4. prada suede sandals | 5. { & last} giuseppe zanotti high platform clog heels | 6. krugh t-strap crochet platform pumps | 7. chloë sevigny for o.c. mary jane platform | 8. charlotte olympia carmen raffia wedge

{style inspiration: spring's sexy brights}
. . . absurdly in love with spring's vibrant hues -- lips in shades of coral & cerise and belted dresses in riotous purple, frolicsome jumpsuits in shimmery turquoise and flirtatious dresses in peach and long skirts paired with tangerine -- such a wildly welcome change from winter's grey days and suddenly, the air feels electric . . .

{favourite five: denise porcaro}
"I perhaps owe having become a painter to flowers."
. . . to enter the world of denise porcaro is to be swept away into an enchanting realm you only thought possible in the secret garden . . .
denise, the founder and owner of the alluring flower girl in nyc, has taken floral design to new heights with her exquisite eye for beauty and ethereal arrangements -- a delicate bundle she creates with dainty garden roses, ravishing wild flowers, or lavish peonies wrapped with the prettiest of ribbons will whisk you away into the romance of a bygone era
with a client list that includes stella mccartney, chanel and the illustrious plaza hotel of manhattan {and a blooming career that has graced the pages of vogue, instyle and elle} we will definitely be paying close attention to denise's:
{five favourite pieces of advice for running a business}
1. dedication is key: know that if you're going to go for something, it should envelope your whole life; you're married to your business in a way, and you should know that going into it
2. have a business plan: you don't need a big business plan -- it can even be written on the back of a bar napkin -- you just need to write down your goals and visualize them happening
3. do what you love: if you're doing what you love, it is that much easier; it cuts all the work in half when it is your passion
4. read your client: cater to your client's unique taste; listen to them, their budget, their likes and dislikes -- that's what we do at flower girl -- we don't give our clients “package a” or “package b”, but really sit with them and figure out exactly what they want and do our best to give them exactly that
5. don’t sweat the small stuff: this is much easier said than done; when you're a perfectionist and you're doing this sort of work, it's hard not to sweat the small stuff, but you have to keep perspective and remember the big picture

{have a magical halloween weekend}
. . . if there were talk previously, about time having flown, there is no comparison for the month of october, which nearly already seems as a distant dream . . . and for now, there is the thought of pumpkin pie and flickering candlelight, old friends to be reacquainted with and new memories to make, long walks and clasped hands amidst the last of the fallen leaves . . . and whether gilded pumpkins or mysterious & enchanted masquerades, wishing you the most magical weekend . . .
see you again next week & hope it's beautiful where you are,
~ roséline xo
