. . . only a few moments this morning before brunch, to flip through the latest issue of lonny, and instantly fell for the chicago home of designer lauren gold; and while a little surprised to be drawn to such deep shades at a time of year when the world feels awash with sunlight, could hardly tear away from the richness of the patterns and textures -- leopard print and tufted velvet, vintage glass and high gloss black, leather and gold . . .

{décor inspiration: patterns & textures}
. . . there is something so wonderfully absorbing about this room -- the luxuriously rich colours and mix of patterns & textures -- perhaps it is the royal blue silk settee and elegant leopard print walls, the dazzling chandelier and bits of gold, the dusky streams of light and beautifully set table for two, or perhaps is is a combination of all these things . . .

{two lovely things: luxurious textures}
. . . whether tiered & romantically lacy cupcake stands or a warm & welcoming pile of mohair blankets, there is nothing quite like the quiet luxury of beautiful textures to warm up an early autumn morning . . .
{p.s.} recent two lovely things:
* black & white
* mirror, mirror
* bits of green
