. . . yesterday was one of those perfect spring days with all the windows and doors thrown extravagantly open, and one could step out in open-toed sandals and a trench, the sleeves thrown up in casual elegance à la nine de la fressange, the air filled with the scent of daffodils and magnolia blossoms and the sun warming shoulders and thoughts . . .

. . . perhaps one of the best things ever is a late lunch on the terrace, and especially an enchantingly sundrenched terrace that holds the secrets of long-forgotten conversations, of laughter and champagne and stolen afternoon kisses . . .
