Something Festive!

Spice things up with a bit of color, and what better color than a warm ruby red for the holidays! The Leigh Bantivoglio "Clara" collection is perfectly festive with its deep raspberry festive coloring. It's a nice break from the typical red & white lingerie combination of the season, without going too far out of the color range. The color works for both Christmas and Valentine's Day!
These pieces are simply yummy!!

Beau Bra - Winter 2008

Beau Bra is a lovely brand from the U.K. that has been represented at Faire Frou Frou since we opened in 2005. We have posted about Beau Bra and its designer (the beautiful Gabrielle Ross) before, and with the new collection here at the boutique, it's our pleasure to post about it again!

We love the Beau Bra philosophy on their brand: "Beau Bra is about discreet sexuality combined with ultra luxury and a hint of British formality. Underwear is designed to keep a man faithful." Now isn't that the truth!!

The images shown here are the new pieces we just received for Winter 2008. We are adding the new items to the boutique in a moment, and here's a peek at what we will be posting...

The NEW Courtworth collection

The new Courtworth collection is now available online! This sophisticated collection offers a flirty twist with its bow-tie detail and ruffled lace accents. Made in Italy, the Courtworth (or Worth, to those of you in Europe) brand represents refined elegance and feminine beauty. The new collection is mostly made from tulle with lace detailing in both nude and black.
This group has sold very well at our boutique, so we're excited to offer it online.

FYI - The Mouche Bustier is going to be on next Sunday's (Dec. 2nd) "Desperate Housewives" on Nicolette Sheridan!

Chantal Thomass for Disneyland

I came across a story in the LA Times this weekend about the 15th anniversary of Disneyland Paris and its commemorative costume auction at Christies. The park requested various design talents such as Chantal Thomass, Azzedine Alaia, and Vivienne Westwood to create their own vision of what specific Disney characters would wear. The costumes were recently auctioned at Christies to benefit the UNICEF organization.
As you know, we carry the Chantal Thomass lingerie collection, and were pleased to see her cute Tinkerbell design! The bodice of the dress looks like a corset...you see Chantal in the picture with her signature haircut and glasses!

{textural healing}

Recently picked up a cleanly designed, ultra-modern chest of drawers for extra storage, yet can't seem to stop looking at complex, ornate and embellished pieces of furniture. It's all about textures and layers these days, and love the worldly, well-travelled look that's showing up in décors all over the place. Quite taken with this Pink Mother of Pearl Inlay Chest of Drawers (above), which is really quite festive, and for fabric textures, Ruth Singer's chair (below) is a wonderful combination of rustic and delicate.

{And thanks to those of you who were wondering about the lack of updates and took the time to write. It's been a busy few weeks and only began slowly down in the past week, so decided to take some off for unfinished projects . . . not to mention the social engagements are beginning to pile up--Monday evening, we're attending an event at my friend Derek's restaurant with Padma Lakshmi of Top Chef
. Should be a lovely night!}

Oprah's Favorite Things!!!

Everybody loves the much-anticipated Oprah's Favorite Things episode, and we are SO excited that the kai product line carried at Faire Frou Frou was featured!
"Bathing is an art form and nobody enjoys it more than I do," Oprah says. Kai is a favorite fragrance and a top-selling product at Faire Frou Frou, and we learned that they customized their signature scent into a moisturizing body butter in a tub just for Oprah. "It's clean and fresh," she says. She also loves the Body Buffer by Kai, which combines an exfoliating loofah and cleansing soap all in one. Just wet and squeeze to release foaming bubbles that smell like an exotic garden (information courtesy of oprah.com).
Here are the kai products sold at Faire Frou Frou!

{voulez-vous sortir avec moi ce soir?}

The holidays are almost here and the invitations are piling up, and there's enough to think about with thoughtful and personal hostess gifts for dinner parties and soirées, without having to worry about what to wear . . .

To make an entrance and turn heads, something sparkly, gauzy or metallic never fails (above), or if you prefer a more understated look, black is always stylish (below), modernized with a full skirt and ruffling.

Wrap your feet like little presents in glamorous be-ribboned shoes and no one will even consider asking you to remove them before entering!

{rosé sauvage}

Things are beginning to feel festive around here, with Melissa's recent French-Inspired Satellite Party, our little trip to NYC, the Murano lamp give-away and thoughts of the perfect gift wrap, lots of gold decorations and lacy snowflakes. Of course, what could be more festive than champagne? Well, pink champagne, of course! And Piper-Heidsieck's Rosé Sauvage, with its trademark gold and pink packaging, is always a stylish choice.

And while we're on the subject of stylish, exchange your regular bottle of vintage for for the
limited-edition Rosé Sauvage by Viktor & Rolf as a hostess gift for this year's soirées and dinner parties and you'll be sure to be everyone's favourite guest.
