we needed some pretty pictures to go along with this post!

Now that the Studio City boutique is cleaned up and getting back on track, we are focusing our attention on our online store remodel. We are in the final phases of the new web design and should be unveiling the improved online boutique in a few weeks...we can't wait!
Just thought we would share the news now with the hopes that you check back in to see the final results. Some early reviews on the site is that it's chic and elegant, and consistent with the look of our classy Studio City boutique. We hope you will think so too!

Like An Exotic Flower...Toad Lillie Lingerie

While browsing the always-inspiring Miss Narcissus, we discovered the darling new lingerie line called Toad Lillie. This unique, made-to-measure brand, which is only available on the Toad Lillie Etsy boutique, is really a standout in the ever-growing world of luxe lingerie.
The toad lillie is a woodland flower, and the frilly trim on most of the pieces are meant to mimic the ruffled edges of an exotic flower. The designer, Laurie Shapiro tastefully combines ruffles, bows and ruching in a selection of beautiful silk with velvet ribbon accents (love the cobalt blue, the hot pink and the pale silver colors). It's as though she took all of our favorite things and combined them into a lingerie collection! Upon reading that she was inspired to design frilly intimates after seeing a burlesque show, we completely understand her vision.
To see the entire Toad Lillie collection, as well as the decorated pasties (aka Lillies), click here.
So many of these pieces are calling our name, which one is your favorite?

{p.s.} also today, a guest post: 10 things

Dita von Teese strikes a pose in yet another unforgettable spread by Ellen von Unwerth, this time for the 25th Anniversary issue of Max Italy magazine (March 2010). We love that these pictures combine our two favorite topics, Dita and amazing lingerie by favorites such as Fifi Chachnil, Cadolle and Cervin. We were also excited to see the Cadolle bra & panty set that we sell at Faire Frou Frou! To top it off, Ellen von Unwerth has the most amazing flair with the camera, so the pictures are filled with energy, seduction and sass.
With pictures this beautiful, we would love to see what else is in this issue of Max...we need our copy today!
