{style inspiration: woven straw + hermès}

endless-summer-hed-23

. . . have always favoured soft leather handbags, and more so as the days fall silently shorter each day . . .

straw-hermes.4jpg

. . . but this summer, inspired by the runways and the south of france, have been carrying around a charming straw handbag {above} from a local wicker shop tied with a silk hèrmes scarft and traipsing around town picking up pretty things here and there and bouquets of pale pink roses and whatever the desires of the afternoon, feeling as if every day were a picnic . . .

. . . shall always and forever adore the quiet photographs taken behind the scenes, aware or not, in the midst of things or in one last moment of repose, and always with a certain sense of anticipation and excitement for the beautiful things that lay ahead . . .

Patrick Demarchelier Photography

It seems like whenever we see the work of Patrick Demarchelier, we spot some beautiful lingerie. In the current UK Vogue, we spotted a special-edition Damaris bra, and then a lovely Bottega Veneta corset. With a little creativity, and the right brands, you can create a high-fashion lingerie ensemble. Also of note, thigh high stockings pretty much add an incredible element to any lingerie look. It looks like we have some high-waisted panties there too...

It turns out that our former header on the blog generated a lot of interest - everyone wants to know who designed the high-waisted panties in the pictures! We are happy to let you know that the pictures are from the Alessandro Dell'Acqua S/S08 runway, Bottega Veneta and La Perla runway (though we think it's an older season show).
In this month's Harper's Bazaar, the Alessandro Dell'Acqua images are featured as well as some high-waisted panties from Gianfranco Ferre and Miu Miu. We're snatching up all of the designer high-waisted panties that we can get, and currently have styles from Mint Siren and Fifi Chachnil in our boutique. We have since sold out of The Lake & Stars high-waisted knickers, but expect to see more of the style in future shipments.
Attached is the image from Bazaar magazine which features some of the panties just mentioned. We are also including it because some of our favorite lingerie brands (sold at FFF) are included: Mimi Holliday, Sexy Panties and Naughty Knickers, Made by Niki and Myla. Congratulations to our designers who were featured!
By the way...the NEW blog header features a design by Niki McMorrough's "Niki Lingerie" (Posh But Not Ltd.).
