GLAMOUR PHOTOGRAFY

. . . a more luxuriously low-key weekend would not have been possible, for this time, [and the first in quite some time], there were no set plans, travel or otherwise -- only half-thoughts, whims & fancies, all fallen by the wayside, in favour of easy mornings and elegant dinners, the blustery romance of autumn at every turn and candlelight against dark windowpanes on early evenings, and later, ambling walks, leather boots and leaves, long cashmere scarves and very warm thoughts . . .

. . . if fashion is about looking forward, then phoebe philo may have done just that when she created this stunning collection for chloé; made in 2005, {when gemma ward still walked the runways}, for the 2006 spring ready-to-wear show in paris, the flirty a-line shapes, cut-work and pretty pleats, baroque patterns, ruffles, appliqués and florals {not to mention the lovely wedges} look as if they might have just stepped off the city sidewalks this morning . . .

. . . bare shoulders and a sexy little white halter dress for traipsing about by day, and dazzling silver sequins in the moonlight by night . . .

{p.s.} of course, the latter could just as easily be worn by day as well, for what could be more fun than sequins in the afternoon?

. . . this past week, it has been all pretty skirts, lacy blouses and billowy dresses, and so, could not help but fall for these impossibly elegant summer whites . . .

. . . and now that the magnolia trees have long flung their petals to the wind, there is such excitement for days of belted short-sleeved sweaters and sexy city shorts, for long, elegantly chic jersey dresses and bare shoulders, and most of all, chantilly lace and sunkissed skin . . .

. . . this weekend was french wine and oysters, window seats in quaint cafes and watching the world go by, porchetta in the park on sunday afternoon and snow pea leaves for dinner, an evening in the country and beautiful plans for the week ahead . . .
