. . . late summer, and have been spending absolutely every single possible moment outdoors, in the park and at the beach, but mostly dinners on the terrace on these breezy august nights . . .

{hello & tuesday musings}
. . . after spending yesterday afternoon at the beach, completely technology-free {as one should be when surrounded by sand, blue skies and magnificently crashing waves} due to a dead iphone battery, have been having a bit of a time getting back into all things work-related, especially since it is {unbelievably} already august and it feels as if, at any moment, summer could slip through our fingers . . .

{table for two: watermelon, salt & chili granita}
. . . and to hold on to summer for as long as possible, {or for those in the southern hemisphere, in anticipation}, pretty pink granita with a little spice . . .
w a t e r m e l o n , s a l t & c h i l i g r a n i t a
serves 4
1 kg fresh, seedless watermelon, skin removed & roughly chopped
1 tbsp freshly squeezed lime juice
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp dried chili flakes
add watermelon, lime juice, salt & chili flakes into a food processor and blend until mixture forms a pulpy consistency
pass mixture through a sieve, pressing firmly through with the back of a spoon; discard remaining mixture from sieve
pour the sieved mixture into a wide metal baking tray or freezer-proof dish (make sure it will fit easily onto your freezer shelf) and freeze for approximately 2-3 hours or until ready to serve (mixture will keep in the freezer for 2-3 days)
when ready to serve, use a fork to scrape granita into shards and serve in dessert glasses
{p.s.} previous table for two features:
* campari citrus sorbet
* call me cupcake
* le petit déjeuner
* meringue-encased lemon cakes
* home-made baguettes
* crab bruschetta

{happy monday & a brand new month}
. . . although it's monday, monday and {technically} back to work, while it is still summertime, and for a well-deserved break from the past few busy, busy weeks, skipping the office {and town} for a few hours today, and by the time you read this, will already be on the second cup of coffee at the café, and well on our way to the beach, the windows down and all summer breezes . . .
à bientôt / see you soon . . . happy monday {& august!} and hope your week is off to a perfect start, roséline xo
{p.s.} leaving you with a few lovely links

{an impossibly lovely weekend + links}
"We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures."
— Thornton Wilder
. . . this note began in a lovely little place just before dinner, a glass of wine and a dashing companion, and this weekend has been a dream-filled tumble of lovely things: friday evening dinner {a delectable shrimp & crab salad made of butter lettuce, chives, cherry tomatoes, and avocado}, terraces and {perfectly ghastly} eighties films, fluttery silk dresses and shimmery bare golden shoulders, morning walks and easy conversations, late, late nights and summer stars . . .
hope you've had an astonishingly wonderful weekend and that it was beautiful where you are, roséline xo

Fleur of England - Iconic & Darling Collections
We just recently received the first of the new Autumn 2011 collections from Fleur of England; Iconic and Darling. These are just part of the 5 distinctive groups designed for the 10-year Anniversary celebration of this UK luxury lingerie label.
The Iconic group includes the all-black (or onyx) lace items with bold strap detailing. It's a bit edgier and bold than what we've previously seen from Fleur, but at the same time very sophisticated and classy. It's pretty much the perfect collection for her to ring in her 10th year!
The Darling collection includes pieces made from a combination of blush satin and black lace. It's sweet and very much a signature Fleur of England style, which we know so many of you love (us included)!
As with every season, slight modifications have been made to existing styles to perfect and improve each piece, and then there are the classic silhouettes that have been brought back because they are tried and true.
It's difficult for us to chose which group we like best, but perhaps our favorite are the Iconic items. We love the cut-out back shortie and the Balcony bra with its wide stretch straps (which coordinate wonderfully with that gorgeous garter belt).
Which pieces are your favorite?

{at the office: a beautiful mess}
. . . and it feels as if we have been sorting and organising for days, and yet, there are still so many things about, that out-of-town guests may just arrive to something resembling {although somewhat less tumultuous} sofia coppola's beautiful mess . . .
