. . . ordinarily, at the beginning of a new work week, it's tailored elegance in the form of pencil skirts and pantsuits, but truth be told, things have not felt ordinary for weeks now, since the holidays began, and have been exchanging ponytails for chignons and wearing sequins in the morning, even before the first cup of coffee, proving it really is the most wonderful time of year . . .

hello again! perhaps a little astonishing how quickly the time has flown, as it would seem as if the days are fading beautifully into one, and after a wonderfully busy and rather eventful week, spending a little time lost in love and the possibilities of the night sky, enveloped in floral linen mornings and, most of all, languidly late afternoons spent lounging about . . .

whatever your plans may be, hope you're having a beautiful weekend,

. . . afternoons are still wonderfully bright, but evenings are beginning to arrive earlier, and with them, a surprising briskness to unaccustomed summer skin, and already this past weekend, faux fur stoles and soft cashmere scarves and the longing for luxuriously warm textures, velvet and tweed and satin-trimmed coverlets -- and even warmer hues and tones, featherstone and champagne and deliriously lovely shades of dusky taupe . . .

Camilla Akrans Photography

images via here, Vogue Nippon, photography by Camilla Akrans, model Anna Jagodzinska, styled by Sissy Vian

Of course we love these pictures; they're by photographer Camilla Akrans!  This Vogue Nippon editorial (from 2008) features the beautiful Anna Jagodzinska wearing stockings on her mile-long legs and bits of lingerie here and there.  Plus there's plenty of lace, so that falls into the lingerie catalog as well (for purposes of this blog anyway). From here we'll just let the pictures do the talking!

Blondeshell!

this sheer black piece kind of has an Ari Dein feel to it...

we can never resist marabou feathers

images via here, Claudia Schiffer for Vogue Germany by Ellen von Unwerth

Being pregnant works quite well on Claudia Schiffer...just look at these amazing pictures by Ellen von Unwerth for Vogue Germany! Sexy panties, sheer gowns and feathers set the stage for a cheeky editorial featuring one of our favorite models. Now these are the type of pregnancy pictures women should take!
For all of the Claudia Schiffer fans out there, the June 2010 issue of Vogue Germany is a must-buy. It features several editorials showcasing Claudia in a variety of looks/styles by artists such as Karl Lagerfeld, Camilla Akrans, Jan Welters, and of course Ellen von Unwerth. You really see Claudia's range as a model in these pictures.

Lingerie & Photography: Sebastian Kim

photographer Sebastian Kim

The shoes are competing with the lingerie in these pictures...in a good way! Boots and strappy heels pair up with some sexy silhouettes in an editorial titled Chance to Desire (though we aren't sure which magazine!) by New York-based photographer Sebastian Kim. The credits on the pictures are too small to read, but we have a feeling there's some Eres involved (there usually is). For some reason these images remind us of the work of Camilla Akrans (whom we adore) because of the muted colors and the slightly blurred effects. How come the blurry pictures on our own camera never turn out so well?!
Sebastian Kim's entire portfolio is on his website and definitely worth a look...it is immediately obvious he is a talented and experienced professional.

Sisley Undies

images by Camilla Akrans

No wonder we were attracted to these pictures; they are by Camilla Akrans, who seems to be the darling of the blogging world (it seems everyone has posted one of her pictures at one point or another). The images above are part of the Fall 2009 campaign for Sisley, an Italian clothing company that designs for men & women. We're not sure if this is a line that is simply carried in Sisley boutiques or if other stores carry it, but it sure is cute! Those corset-back panties are right up our alley!
We love the model's beautiful red hair too...anyone know who she is? (update: per reader Greg, the model is Maxine Schiff...thanks for the info!).

Lingerie & Beautiful Photography

Here we go again with an extraordinarily talented photographer, Camilla Akrans. Camilla is a versatile photographer that has an extensive portfolio with an emphasis on high-fashion. Pretty much if you read VOGUE, Elle, Bazaar, you know her work.
The photos that we included in today's post feature lingerie as shot through a sheet of gauzy silk. It creates a dramatic and mysterious effect that works beautifully when paired with the boudoir imagery.

The image below is also by Camilla - a very different look compared to what you see above, and simply gorgeous!
