Bondage Chic

Numero #125 "Attache-Moi", photos by Tom Munro, model Aymeline Valade, image via here

We love when we see a piece of lingerie we carry at Faire Frou Frou in a major fashion magazine, as is the case with the Lascivious "Milla" bra (seen in the first image).  Of course there are some sexy Falke thigh highs & stockings happening here too, which are pretty fabulous.
Is it us, or are we seeing quite a bit of S&M styled shoots these days?  We're definitely seeing its influence in the world of lingerie design, and we're liking it!

Birds, Lingerie...

images via here

We are trying to find a common theme with each of these pictures by Greg Kadel...there's definitely the lingerie and big blowing hair, but we can't quite figure where the bird motif works itself in.  Even though it doesn't make a lot of sense, it certainly is striking!
That first image with the garter panty & stockings is superb, and we love the use of the cupless bra in the third image down.  We are always suggesting the cupless/open bras to our customers as a layering piece/accessory for your outerwear, and that open bra layered under the dress is the perfect interpretation of it.  In fact, we might just try that look ourselves tomorrow (with the Myla 'Simone' Triangle Bra)...it's so fun being inspired by fashion!
We actually featured Kadel in our last blog post, and usually don't feature the same photographer back to back, but what the heck!  These pictures just had to be shared...and besides, we're going to use that first picture to create a new graphic for the Twitter link on our blog's sidebar.

Lingerie & Photography: Tom Munro

images via here from Numero Magazine (March 2007), Elise Crombez by Tom Munro

Doesn't black & white photography just seem to make everything an instant classic?  Model Elise Crombez is showing off some timeless pieces from this 2007 editorial for Numero Magazine.  Just seeing that black chemise in the first picture is a reminder of how some lingerie can be timeless.  Each image is quite beautiful, and check out those patterned tights in the last shot!  So beautiful!

A Taste of Lace (& Feathers)

Cameron Russell by Photographer Ben Hassett, Styled by Capucine Safyurtlu for Numero Magazine (October 2010).  Images via here.

We are not sure where our love affair begins; lingerie or lace.  The lace in this editorial for Numero Magazine is absolutely lovely, and once again we see the all-lace eye-mask being used, which is so striking and seductive.  Granted, there's not much lingerie in this post with the exception of two pieces by Chantelle and Eres, but we didn't think you would mind!  We are quite taken with the photography skills of Ben Hassett and the beauty of Cameron Russell.  The ostrich feathers in the first picture are quite dramatic, and so beautiful...we don't even know if it's a top or an accessory, we just love it.  Perhaps we have ostrich feathers on our mind with the up-coming addition of an entire Burlesque Shop on our online store!  Details will indeed follow about that!

. . . when you combine the work of a fashion photographer and an interiors photographer, there is magic in the air, and an intermingling of intricately carved headboards and patent leather peeptoes, cranberry-coloured satin and sexy tousled hair, warm wool blankets and beaded gowns with velvet sashes, and all enveloped in warm and woodsy late-autumn tones of red wine and ripe cranberries, just in time for the holidays . . .

A Little Bit of Lingerie

Greg Kadel for Numero Magazine, October 2008

We simply wanted to share this image of Stephanie Seymour, namely because of the beautiful bra. We wonder who designed it?
UPDATE: Thanks to reader Culmell, the bra is by UK brand Lascivious...a somewhat naughty brand & look you will be seeing at Faire Frou Frou later this summer!!
