GLAMOUR PHOTOGRAFY

. . . and the weekend began with an enormous bouquet of palest pink long stem roses, and in between afternoon sunshine and starlit dinners, there was [finally] the chance to see the film, melancholia [beautiful, depressing], and there were visits with old friends, barbeques and beaujolais, and many hours spent planning for the enormous [& enormously exciting] changes ahead, and today, a new week, filled with brand new and wonderful things . . . one of which, is below . . .

. . . one of the fondest memories of growing up was my mother's movie-star dressing rooms -- enormous and luxurious, and with those pretty white lights that trail all the way around the large looking glass above the vanity, upon which was always a beautiful scattering of perfume bottles and golden hairpins, and every kind of beauty product one could possibly imagine -- it was a most magical place for a little girl, and needless to say, spent many, many hours utterly lost in spritzes of heady perfume, dustings of silvery eyeshadows and dashes of lipstick, and watching my mother get ready for dinner parties and evening soirées . . .



. . . and as there have been so many requests, thought it might be lovely, [with a little winter light & p's stunning photography], to share a glimpse of a few favourite things on the vanity and of the moment . . .

. . . and the year still feels so new, one can not help but look back, [just a little], and with ever so much fondness, and a bittersweet nostalgia, at the last, and so, with plain disregard to numbers & figures, a few favourites from the past year . . .

. . . this past weekend was a last-minute & whirlwind trip to montréal with guests from out of town {a few photographs to follow} , and after a little time away, it's back to work and already the morning light seems to be a little different, and while shall always and forever be madly in love with summer, do quite adore tall leather boots and tweed and cashmere, and it shall be quite wonderful to dash out in a belted trench once again . . .

. . . hello! feels as if this week is positively whirling by and in the midst of projects and too many cups of coffee and stunningly exciting plans, had nearly forgotten that the second issue of high gloss magazine came out today, and already it is a favourite, for aside from the elegant open shelves and palest pink rooms with glimmery venetian glass mirrors, in this particular issue, was perfectly delighted to be included in the "blogger we love" feature, and to answer a few fun questions . . .
