Brock Elbank was born in England and at the age of 14 decided he wanted to work in photography after being inspired by Anton Corbijn’s work for U2’s The Joshua Tree album. After art college studying graphics and photography he went to Uni and got a gig shooting for Mixmag which helped put him through Uni.
Graduating from now Gloucester University, Brock then moved to London to look for work as an assistant. Landing an unpaid job and a studio hand at the then prestigious Metro Studio, where the likes of Nick Knight, Juergen Teller, David Sims, David Bailey and Michael Thompson shot. After learning the ropes at Metro, Brock was lucky enough to get to assist many of his idols, including an opportunity with Anton Corbijn, when he shot Ewan McGregor. Brock found an assistant job with Nick Knight prodigy Sean Ellis, where he got to work on shoots for The Face, Arena, Vogue Paris and ID along with campaigns for Julian Macdonald.
