Ray Bulson is a professional freelance photographer who turned pro in late 2006 after a 25-year career in chemical engineering. In fact, Ray and his family moved to Alaska from Delaware in September of that year to pursue his passion. He has been photographing for 20 years starting with 35 mm and medium format film, and for the last few years, with 35 mm digital.
Ray enjoys all types of photography but specializes in landscapes, wildflowers and wildlife, and more recently in composite panoramas. Wilderness Visions, Inc. was incorporated in Delaware in 2000 to start selling Ray’s images. His portfolio can be accessed at www.raybulson.com where prints and greeting cards are sold. Several essays, trip reports, and slide shows are also on the website.

His photos have been published in calendars, catalogs, greeting cards, online publications, books, and magazines including Nature Photographer’s Online Magazine (February, May, and August 2001), The Best of Nature Photography (Amherst Media, 2003), Nature Photographer Magazine (Spring 2003), Federal Regulation and Pennsylvania’s Environment (National Environmental Trust, 2004), Delaware Beach Life (Fall 2005), and Greatland Graphics (Alaska Time 2009 and 2011 Calendars). Corporate clients include Providence Hospital and Willow Medical in Anchorage and Ashland in Delaware.

Ray’s images were chosen for inclusion in the North America Nature Photography Association’s (NANPA) Expressions 2007 Journal, and were on display in NANPA’s 2007 Fine Art Exhibit (juried) at their 13th annual summit in Palm Springs, California. One of Ray’s photos was also chosen for the alaskaWILD 2008 juried exhibit sponsored by the Alaska Society of Outdoor and Nature Photographers. His work is represented by Alaska Stock Images and is also available on-line from archives with Photoshelter.

In addition to being a member of ASONP and NANPA, Ray is a member of the Nature Conservancy, Natural Resources Defense Council, and the Sierra Club and is active writing letters to local and national political leaders in an effort to protect our natural resources and raise awareness of global climate change.
