Still Life Photography by Erwan Frotin

Erwan Frotin

Erwan Frotin’s strange and beautiful still life photographs bring contemporary vitality to the genre. He sculpts witty, oddly elegant still lifes and lights these temporary structures to perfect effect. In the early 2000s, Frotin studied at the prestigious ECAL in Lausanne, Switzerland. In 2002 he was awarded the photography prize at the Festival de Hyères; his first commission for French Vogue art directed by M/M (Paris) followed. Frotin has exhibited his work extensively in Europe and recently completed Flora Olbiensis a project about the wild flora and fauna of southern France. He has created editorial photography for French Vogue, Vogue Hommes International, Wallpaper, The New York Times Magazine, Another Man, Libération, House & Garden, Intersection, and Dazed and Confused. His advertising clients include Asprey, Hermès, Bergdorf Goodman, Louis Vuitton, Tsumori Chisato, Sketch and Adidas.
