. . . and having been forever in love with love, and forever ever in love, it's no wonder that valentine's day is very nearly a national holiday around here, and perhaps the very best thing about it falling on a tuesday, is the chance to celebrate again, for there are dinner reservations also for the weekend, and for tonight, there will be champagne and other perfectly wonderful things, and however you celebrate, or not at all, wishing you so much love—the kind that overflows on everything and fills the air . . .
happy, happy valentine's day! hope it's sweet & sexy and positively filled with beautiful things, —roséline xo

{wishing you a wildly romantic valentine's day}
{runway inspiration: elie saab, paris}
. . . if you have been reading for a while, you undoubtedly know about about a longstanding love affair with elie saab, and especially, for said designer's penchant for sequins by daylight, dramatic draping, billowy fabrics, pleats and perfectly pretty party dresses, and while previous collections my have been about pale & pretty neutrals, the spring 2012 collection, while still awash in beautiful sequins and filled with glamour, is all about colour . . .

{afternoon breezes & the first day of summer}
"And so with the sunshine and the great bursts of leaves growing on the trees, just as things grow in fast movies, I had that familiar conviction that life was beginning over again with the summer."
F. Scott Fitzgerald, The Great Gatsby
. . . and somehow, amidst everything -- days at the office and starlit weekends in the country, after the rains and the windswept petals, softly, beautifully, and at long last, it has arrived . . .
happy first day of summer! & hope it's beautiful where you are,
xo

{late spring + a new month}
"The world's favorite season is the spring.
All things seem possible in May."
. . . bright mornings and starlit nights, shades of green and lily of the valley, breakfast on the terrace and afternoons in lacy dresses . . . the month of may is filled with promise and drifts closer each day to summertime . . .
happy may! wishing you a month lost in happiness & beautiful things,
~ roséline xo

{spring things: kelly green bicycles}
. . . must confess, save for a few sunday afternoon trips a few summers ago, and only when lured with the romance of a picnic for two {complete with baguettes & brie and pink champagne}, am not often found on two wheels despite a fondness for bicycles . . . and yet, perhaps, this perfectly preppy kelly green handmade italian one, complete with a classic english leather seat and an ultra-chic essex scout bag {for holding fuchsia lipstick a few hairpins in the event of blustery spring breezes} may have just changed everything . . .

{two lovely things: green & white}

{have a beautiful weekend + late-sunday links}
. . . there is just something about sundays -- everything seems to slow down to a perfect pace, and whether off to the countryside, catching flights or catching up on beauty sleep, it is nearly impossible not to relax on sundays and it's positively luxurious . . . and while last week was filled with loveliness, working in sun-drenched cafés and evening walks with the dog that ended in new summer wedges and a little black dress, there is a certain hope about sundays that always leaves time for brunch, a good book, the flower markets, handwritten letters, and moments lost in daydreams . . .
hope you're having a wonderful weekend & that it's beautiful where you are, ~roséline xo
